Are you worried your destination wedding could be impacted by Coronavirus?
It is expected that weddings that involve international travel will be affected first. Additionally, shipments of wedding items such as outfits, welcome bags, favours and memorabilia might be also affected.
No matter the challenge, there’s always a solution, so don’t let the panic set in! I want to keep this blog post positive by proposing some value solutions for your consideration.
Is your wedding to be in the affected area?
There are two solutions here really, postpone your date or consider hosting your wedding in your home country. For those clients of mine who choose to bring their wedding back to the UK or Scotland, I can secure locally sourced and recommended suppliers to ensure you’re covered under all circumstances.
Are you unable to move your wedding?
In case of any cancellations, understand all policies involved and if you’re booking travel, ensure you opt in for flexible cancellation terms. It is also highly recommended to obtain fully comprehensive travel insurance for all of your travels during the Coronavirus outbreak.
If your guests will also be travelling to your wedding, plan for smaller numbers, just in case, to avoid disappointment.
Are you beginning to shop for a wedding dress or awaiting its shipment?
I highly recommend working with your local dress designers or even consider purchasing your dress off-the-rack if your wedding is only under three months away. This is to avoid disappointment, and ensure that you don’t set your heart on a dress that may not be ready on time. You can always ask for local alterations to ensure you love your selected dress.
The same applies to any accessories you might have ordered or considered to order from China – under the current circumstances you might want to consider shopping locally or be creative with what’s available in the shops just now.
Are you only a few weeks away from your special day? Worry not!
It’s OK to plan for everything to go on as it is, but remember to stay informed and ensure you seek regular updates from your vendors.
It is also highly beneficial to keep your wedding website updated for your guests, so you can avoid numerous questions from your family and friends.
You might also consider streaming the most important parts of your wedding to your elderly and vulnerable guests.
